Mrs. Tina Knowles Lawson graces the cover of Ebony this month in Clutch Crowns and Stello gown.  In a rare interview she discusses her new marriage, family and feminism in her own no-nonsense way that could only come from the Queen of Queen Bey.

The BeyHive is a Buzz

The excitement was hard to contain when the cover was released.  From The Huffington Post to Wendy Williams to The Queen Bee herself sharing pics of a breathtaking grandmother who seems to have no age.  Draped in brilliant red gowns from Stello, the collaboration collection from Stephanie and Michael Costello recently seen making a splash on the runway at Cannes.   Instagram and twitter exploded with comments like “I’m depressed I don’t have her genes” and “61 never looked so good” but Beyonce’s Instagram post put it best stating simply “My Queen!”

Tina Knowles | Matriarch | Modern Woman

If her pictures might make you envious, but her success must inspire.  “The last of seven siblings, each of whom has one of four variations of the same last name Boyance (‘The hospital told my mama be happy we even got birth certificates.’) ‘Tenie B,’ her nickname since childhood, shares that she was mistreated by Black nuns in elementary school, took off solo to California at 18, and by 34, with little ones in tow, opened one of the biggest, baddest Black hair salons Houston had ever known.” – Ebony.com

Our Hermia Crown for the Queen

The crown Knowles selected for the cover is from our Micheal Costello custom collaboration.  It’s named Hermia from Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream. “Hermia is one of Shakespeare’s best heroines.  She’ll stand by her man with a fiercely strong heart and rebellious nature.  She doesn’t always get what she wants, but she always acts like a queen.” – clutchjewelry.com

The Royal Family

This isn’t Clutch’s first brush with the royal family.  We were honored to create a custom piece of jewelry for Beyonce’s all-female ten piece band the Sugar Mammas.  “It’s an honor to work with such talented and driven creatives.  Everyone involved has a passion to spread creativity, empowerment, and love.” – Clutch Creative Director Stacy Eden
