This isn’t the first year that Clutch Jewelry / Clutch Crowns’ Stacy Eden and Dolcessa Swimwear’s Katya Leoncio were inspired enough by each other to create a whole new line of jewelry, but it may be their favorite. The duo met at Phoenix Fashion Week back in 2013 and have been working together off and on ever since, having shown at phoenix fashion week three times now as well as LA Fashion Week in 2014.
This year Dolcessa has the same vibrant colors and detailed prints that has made their brand so successful. It’s a go-to favorite of most of the most elite swimsuit models in the world, just check out their Instagram @DolcessaSwimwear. It’s also been featured in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue for 5 years running. No big deal. They’re also in boutiques all over the world, including every MGM Grand property on the Las Vegas strip like the Aria, Mandalay Bay, and the Bellagio.
This year Eden and Leoncio created a collection of bold palm, wrist and arm cuffs, dramatic chokers, textured, organic belts and even a few flower crowns all in gold and rose gold called The Kanaloa Collection. They used bold angular lines as well as delicate, organic roses. They were inspired by Polynesian tribal art, island living and strong, beautiful women. Kanaloa is the Polynesian god of the sea, often personified in local folklore as a squid or octopus.
“We loved the juxtaposition of the bold lines of metal and the texture of the flowers. They’re hand painted silk and they have such depth. The metal is so reflective and eye-catching, while the flowers are dark and deep,” explains Eden.
The two debuted the collection at Phoenix Fashion Week’s Spring / Summer 2017 show at the Talking Stick Resort. Ford Robert Black Agency Supplied the the happy, healthy models, Toni and Guy Scottsdale rocked out some big bouncy waves and MUZ Makeup put the finishing touches; bright eyes and a glossy lip with just a bit of gold shimmer.
